When we consider a project that uses modular walls, glass typically comes to mind first, which makes sense. Glass fronts are visible, familiar, and easy to imagine within conference rooms, private offices, and meeting spaces. They bring light deeper into the floorplate while creating the transparency and visual connection many contemporary environments
demand. 

But if modular architecture is going to fulfill its potential, it has to extend deeper into the floorplate, solving for privacy, acoustics, adaptability, and the realities of construction with the same level of architectural refinement. This is where solid walls begin to change the conversation.

Vertical and horizontal elevations can be approached with greater parity, while elevation independence allows each side of the wall to respond to the space it serves. A conference room might call for large horizontal panels on one side and vertical markerboards on the other. Different rooms can require different finishes, functions, and scales without forcing both faces of the wall to mirror one another. 

Hidden Complexity, Cleaner Architecture

The value of a system often becomes most apparent at the places where things come together. Corners. Intersections. Changes in material. Three-way conditions. Connections between solid and glass. These are the moments where architectural complexity can become visually obvious, requiring additional trim, posts, or other interventions to resolve what is happening behind the surface.
